Fried Shrimp on Apple iOS 13.3 Dinner plans?

Prawn ceviche from @kelvin_freijo, EHIB student.

  • Ingredients:
    • 500gr of prawns (or any white meat or seafood fish), 1 red onion, 2 tomatoes, 1 green pepper, all cut into small squares.
    • 2 teaspoons of ketchup and mustard.
    • 3 limes or 2 lemons, 1 orange.
    • Coriander, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Preparation:
    • Peel the prawns and dice them, arrange them in a bowl together with the juice of two limes with a pinch of salt and keep in the fridge for 1h; This will make the citric acid to “cook” the shrimp (it is called “pickling”).
    • The sauce: squeeze the remaining lime and orange juice and mix them well with the ketchup and mustard.
    • When the shrimp is pickled, mix it with the sauce, tomato, onion, pepper and coriander. It is important to incorporate the vegetables at the end to taste them fresh.
    • Correct with salt and pepper and ENJOY!

Thanks a lot, Kelvin!

Brain on Apple iOS 13.3 Psychological Recommendations

A group of former psychology students from the UIB have reviewed the recommendations given for confinement and have chosen those with the most scientific support. We will be sharing them with the entire community in small bits.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation

The seventh week of confinement begins, Can you believe it? At this point, it is normal to experience symptoms of stress and anxiety that produce some sort of discomfort. Have you noticed more muscle tension in the last few days? Does it affect your mood?

We want to share with you a simple relaxation exercise so you can benefit from reducing that extra stress. It is about tightening and relaxing the different muscle groups: legs, arms, abdomen, face, hands, and so on.

We recommend that you practice it in a quiet room and, if possible, in dim light. You can do it stretched or sitting; the key is to stay comfortable.

The sequence with all the muscles would be as follows:

  1. Tense the muscle for about 10 seconds.
  2. Relax it slowly.
  3. Maintain muscle relaxation and focus on the pleasant feeling for at least another 10 seconds.

Example with our face

  • Wrinkle your forehead and then relax it.
  • Raise and lower your eyebrows.
  • Close and tighten your eyelids a little (without hurting yourself) and then open them a little.
  • Clench the jaw and then relax it.
  • Purse your lips as if you are about to kiss someone and then relax them.

And so on with the rest of your body parts.

If you understand Spanish and prefer to try a relaxation through visualization, Patri Ramírez, who also studied at the UIB, gives us this mental exercise of only 10 minutes. And if you have young children, you can practice together with this other exercise adapted by Patri.
